Best Writing Resource
I'll be expanding this page in coming months so check back from time to time.
The BEST online resource for young writers that I know of is the Centre for Learning Innovation's Writer's Talk - free video interviews with children's authors like Garth Nix, Andy Griffiths, Deb Abela, Morris Gleitzman and Isobelle Carmody. I was lucky enough to be interviewed for the initiative at this year's Sydney Writer's Fest.
My Writing
I’ve been writing stuff down since as far back as I can remember: ‘To-Do’ Lists, story ideas, dreams, lines of dialogue, random ideas and quotes scratched on computer, scrap paper, serviettes, on my hand, any flat-ish surface really. It’s always been an obsession. I’ve written lots of articles about moviemaking, a few films and now books for children and young adults.
I’m currently writing a new novel and researching the Russian space programme.
If you have a question on the crazy business of writing you can drop me a line on email, hit me up on Myspace or click here to check out excerpts from the diary I keep while writing the Mac Slater, Coolhunter books.
My literary agent is Sophie at
Cameron-Creswell.
